Short Summary

SwipeClean is a photo and video cleanup utility. Its core privacy posture is local-first: media review, deletion queues, compression, conversion, Smart Clean detection, thumbnails, and cleanup stats are handled on the device.

Important: SwipeClean does not run a custom cloud backend and does not upload your photo or video library to us. Network access is used for subscriptions, app-store billing flows, Google ads and consent tools, store links, and support email actions you choose to start.

Who We Are

SwipeClean is provided by the Cognitix team. In this policy, "SwipeClean", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the app and the Cognitix team.

Information Handled By The App

SwipeClean handles several categories of information so it can clean and manage media safely. Most of this information stays on your device.

Photos and videos

With your permission, SwipeClean reads the media you allow it to access. Depending on your OS permission, this may be your full library or only selected items.

asset ID local URI filename type size dates dimensions duration

Local cleanup state

The app stores local state such as reviewed items, marked-for-deletion items, deletion history, compression and conversion jobs, settings, language, theme, and local stats.

Smart Clean signals

Smart Clean may compute small local signals such as MD5 hashes, perceptual hashes, blur variance, and video thumbnail hashes. These are used to detect duplicates, similar media, blurry items, screenshots, memes, and large files.

App Lock and reminders

If you enable App Lock, SwipeClean stores a 4-digit passcode in secure device storage and can use the system biometric prompt. If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device.

How SwipeClean Uses Information

  • To show your media library, organize it by month, and help you review items quickly.
  • To queue media for deletion and only delete after you confirm through the app and OS flow.
  • To compress photos and videos, verify the output, save the new copy, and optionally delete the original.
  • To convert media formats and save or share the converted result.
  • To calculate local cleanup stats, storage estimates, and Smart Clean suggestions.
  • To remember preferences such as language, color, theme, reminders, App Lock, and compression quality.
  • To validate Pro access, restore purchases, show subscription offers, and open store subscription management.
  • To show ads to Free users when ads are allowed and hide ads for Pro users.

Local Storage And Retention

SwipeClean stores local app data on your device using app storage such as AsyncStorage. The App Lock passcode, if enabled, is stored using secure device storage. Media outputs may be saved to your Photos, Gallery, Music, Files, or app sandbox depending on the feature and platform.

  • Local app data usually remains until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
  • Temporary cache files may be removed by the app or operating system.
  • Deletion history and stats are local convenience features, not a remote account history.
  • On Android, app backup is disabled in the app manifest to reduce exposure of local app data through device backup.

Third-Party Services

SwipeClean does not use a custom backend, analytics service, or crash-reporting service in the current app. It does use the following third-party services for specific features:

Service Purpose Data involved
RevenueCat Subscriptions, purchase validation, restoring purchases, and Pro entitlement status. Purchase history, product identifiers, entitlement status, expiration/source details, receipts, and an app user identifier. SwipeClean does not create a custom user account for this. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Apple App Store and Google Play Native in-app purchases, subscription management, refunds, and payment processing. Your app-store account and payment details are handled by Apple or Google. SwipeClean does not receive your full payment card details.
Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads SDK Ads for Free users, ad delivery, frequency handling, rewarded ads, consent messaging, and fraud prevention. SwipeClean requests non-personalized ads. Google's ads SDK may still collect or share data such as IP address, ad interactions, app interactions, diagnostics, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Permissions

SwipeClean asks for permissions only when needed for app features.

  • Photos and videos: used to display, review, compress, convert, save, and delete media.
  • Add or save to library: used when saving compressed or converted media back to your device.
  • Notifications: used for optional reminders and Android foreground progress notifications.
  • Biometric authentication: used only if you enable App Lock and choose biometric unlock.
  • Billing: used for Play Store or App Store subscription purchases.
  • Internet: used for RevenueCat, AdMob/consent tools, app-store links, and support email links.

SwipeClean does not request precise location, contacts, camera, or microphone permissions. Media-location access is disabled in the app configuration, and custom picker flows do not request EXIF data.

Your Choices

  • Use your operating system settings to grant full media access, selected media access, or no media access.
  • Use the app settings or OS settings to disable notifications.
  • Upgrade to Pro to remove ads, or use your OS ad controls to reset or limit advertising identifiers.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
  • Clear local app data or uninstall SwipeClean to remove local app storage from your device.
  • Contact us at info.cognitix@gmail.com for privacy questions.

Security

SwipeClean is built around local processing and confirmed destructive actions. App Lock uses secure device storage for the passcode when available, and deletion flows update app state only after the operating system reports success.

No app or transmission method is perfectly secure. Third-party services process their data according to their own security practices and policies.

This Privacy Page

This web page is a static page. It does not include cookies, forms, advertising tags, or analytics scripts. If hosted on a platform such as Netlify, the hosting provider may process routine technical logs such as IP address, browser, timestamp, and requested URL to deliver and secure the page.

Children

SwipeClean is not directed to children under 13 or to children below the minimum digital-consent age in their region. We do not knowingly create accounts for children or operate a child-directed backend.

International Processing

Third-party providers such as RevenueCat, Google, Apple, Google Play, and your hosting provider may process information in countries other than yours. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and legal terms.
